Travel: Portland

I recently traveled to Portland and had a great time. I wanted to go around October because I wanted to see the different fall colors around the city. It was amazing to see yellow and red trees and leaves falling everywhere. There was a rainstorm also the weekend I visited which made me very happy. I left LA weather which was at 100 degrees for PDX weather which was around 55 degrees. I did know ahead of time about the rainstorm so I did bring 2 rain jackets because I didn’t want to use an umbrella. I’ve had friends visit before and tell me locals don’t use umbrellas, so I followed their advice.

There’s a lot to see in Portland, tons of coffee shops, stores, restaurants. They are known for being a weird city but it wasn’t weird at all. It was raining a lot so I would pop in stores when the downpour was heavy. Here are some of my favorite places I visited. I definitely would go back and check out more in the city. About 30 minutes away you could visit the waterfalls and Mt.hood. Some roads were closed due to excessive rain but when the weather is better you could do a lot more activities.

In the downtown area I saw a lot of cute hotels. I personally stayed in an Air BnB close to town. It was in the Forest Hills area and had a lot of amenities. Its a great option if you are traveling with a big group or want a more cozy home feel.
