One of the boroughs in New York is Brooklyn. I didn’t have that much time to really explore the city but I did check out the DUMBO ( Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) area. I’m an avid Gossip Girl fan and watched the series when I was in high school, so I was happy to see where Dan Humphrey lived. (Kudos if you know what I’m talking about) Also I was excited to check out the Tom Fruin Water Tower. It was a little mission to see it because its on the roof of a building. Luckily, some people granted me access to the roof and I was able to take some pictures. I noticed water towers all over the city but this one was definitely the prettiest and most unique.
The scenery is beautiful under the bridge. I have never seen such green grass before and the clouds almost looked like a painting. The architecture reminded me of the industrial era of New York I read about in school. The buildings looked in great condition and the cobble stones on the floor makes you think you’re in Europe. It would be a pain if you had heels on because the floor was uneven most of the time, but I’m sure these fashionistas in the area make it work.
The weather was windy when I was walking over the bridge and it was a bit crowded. Cyclists are no joke over here and if you cross into the bike lane you will hear it from them when they pass you by. (Learned by experience) At night I took a ferry around the city and subway to an 80’s party. That’s one thing about New York, you’ll always find something to do.
